ankle and shin pain after falling

My 14 year old daughter fell badly 5 days ago x rays of fibula and tibia and ankle all came back clear she is on brufen and paracetamol since but still cannot walk or put weight on her right foot as she cries in pain what damage could she have done

Back at doctors and hospital today they did more x rays and have told me she has badly sprained her ankle and it could take 3--6 wks to heal

Hello!

Let her rest adequately and take sick leave from her school for a period of 1 week.

She should avoid weight bearing and also apply ice packs and continue taking ibuprofen to get better.

If symptoms continue then you should consider an MRI and follow up with an orthopedician.
