Feel like my knee exploded...

I tore the meniscus on my right knee in january of 07. I was crouching down to tie my shoe and when I stood up it cracked and popped a few times and I was in severe pain. I was off of it for 3-4 weeks and in time I regained use of it. Then the 22nd of november I was working on a car and while performing a similar movement it went snap-crackle-pop again. I rested the knee but the injury did not seem to be that bad and I was walking again in a day. Then yesterday, the 1st, I was getting in my car and the knee EXPLODED with pain. This time I was not bent on the knee like the previos two times. It was just angled at an 145% degree angle. My wife helped me up the stairs and I've been resting it ever since.
Background: I was diagnosed with Osgood Schlatters as a youth. I'm 25 now.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

hi, there is repeatative injury to your knee and no idea have you consulted orthopedician and any corrective surgery done or not. If you are having restriction in movements and continuous pain consult a orthopedician without delay and get MRi done. take pain killers and apply local heat, just taking rest at home may not help you.

Hi,
Osgood Schlatter's disease is partial avulsion of the tibial tuberosity (anterior surface of apophysis) which has no involvement of tibial physis. This is common among the youngsters.
Now ,with respect to your present complaint, it requires a clinical evaluation to comment upon the condition.
