Should I be worried?

Is....a rupture of the capsule medially with high signal fluid surrounding the subscapularis tendon... of concern?  Should I be worried?

Was this a result of an MRI? It sounds like you had trauma to your shoulder and perhaps tore your subscap tendon which is part of the rotator cuff. If a tear is present that would cause fluid to be in the area. If that's the case surgery is probably needed, but most people have wonderful results. Hope this helps...I haven't heard of a medial rupture before...normally anterior, inferior, and posterior are the most common with shoulder. I have to say I'm not sure what that means! Write back with more info if you have it.

Thank you for your response.   Yes, that was quoted from the Radiologist's report... The first sentence reads "There is rupture of the capsule medially with high signal fluid surrounding the subscapularis tendon.  Under flouroscopy, the capsular leak was seen very early in the examination...."

However, it goes on to state that there is no evidence of rotator cuff tear and the glenoid labrum is intact.

I am just wondering if this finding means surgery is a necessity at this point.  I wont see DR for a few more weeks.  Thanks again.
