Thoracic fusion T11 and T12

3 months ago I suffered an 8 foot fall from my daughter's playhouse.  I fractured my T2 through T12 bones and required repair surgery on my muscles and had T11 and T12 fused with screws and plates.   Whenever it gets humid outside, I get really stiff.  Particularly in my feet, knees, wrists, hands, fingers and elbows.  Could this be a result of the hardware or just part of recuperating?  Any input is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.  Glad to hear all is good with the hardware.  The surgery went very well, from what my doctors have told me.  I am starting to wean myself off of my back brace and will begin hydrotherapy soon.  My doctor wants to start me with hydrotherapy first and then progress to the ground physical therapy.  Should I expect to feel sore after my therapy sessions?  The hydrotherapy sounds like it will feel good, but since I've never had any kind of back trauma or surgery... I welcome any input from others.  It's interesting to know that a change in atmosphere brings on an arthritic type of pain.  I am doing my best to keep my stress down and will continue to do so.  Thanks again.

hello TTLC,
If your surgery was wrong , then you would had pain all the time. So don't worry. It,s just the body's reaction to the change of atmosphere. No problem with the hardware.
Keep the stress part out in your case.

regards
