What is going on????????

For about a week now I have had this horrible ear pain and tender scalp.  I went to a walk in clinic and they said I had an outer ear infection in my left ear.  They  prescribed me antibiotic ear drops with steroids.  It seemed to help at first, by the 2nd day after going to doc I had to go to my family physician.  They seemed to think it was sinus infection along with ear infection, they prescribed me an antibiotic (Zpack) and steroids to take orally.  I have been taking those meds and now all of a sudden I dont have any ear pain any longer, my scalp feels a little better....now this horrible pain is now in my upper back, between my shoulder blades????  THis is so wierd!! What is going on??  What could this be??? TMJ??  Does anybody out there have any of the same symptoms?  I will tell you this, I am so stressed out, with work, etc??  Please if anyone can shed on this mystery??  Thank you sooo much!!

Yes - sort the stress out!  Might be worth checking if you clench or grind your teeth.  Is your tongue scalloped indicating it being trapped in the teeth at night as you clench or grind?  This can cause neck pain - go see your dentist and they will make you a soft splint to wear at night to take the pressure off the temporomandibular joint.  The stress is still to blame though as it will make you subconsciously clench/grind.
Hope this helps.

I think it may due to some of this stress.  I took a hot bath and turned the jets on and I couldnt leave the jets on because it hurt too bad.  Isnt that wierd???  I just want to feel like myself again.  Stress is a horrible thing thats for sure.  Thanks for your insight!!

I'm not sure, but I get a lot of ear pain and jaw pain from arthritis.  But if they said it's an ear infection that would be the reason.  The pain in your back may just be a coincidence that it came at the same time.  Maybe you are tired and it's muscle pain?  Try to finish the antibiotics and see if it goes away.
