What is this mystery pain?

I've had a mystery pain for approx 5 years.  Have had numerous tests. Recently had exploratory surgery with the finding of adhesions.  Some relief but other pain is still there.  This is a pain that is somewhat hard to describe.  I'll sometimes have shooting pain throughout the top of the pubic bone area.  Also when I'm lying down and I turn I'll have a pain way up inside of me behind the pubic bone area and between the hips in the middle of my body.  I seem to waddle more like a duck when I walk also.  I went to an orthopedic and got tested for pubis osteitis but the doctor said I did not have it and no futher osteo tests were recommended.  When I read about the symptoms of pubis osteoitis it seemed to describe the symptoms I was having.  Anybody have any symptoms like this or suggestions?  My doctor has sent me for all know tests and I don't think they have anything else that they are recommending.

Sorry about all the pain. When you said exploratory surgery, do you mean a laparoscopy? If so were those adhesions biopsied to me it sounds like you might have endometriosis, only an endo specialists knows how to spot it. If you are concerned that you might have endo contact the endo association. They will help you find an endo specialist near you. Here is their website:

Also have you ever had pain with your period? If so THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!

I hope this helps,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Osteitis pubis,  is characterised by inflammation of the pubic symphysis, which is the joint at the front of the pelvis between the two ends of the pubic bone. This inflammation leads to sclerosis and bony changes of the pubis symphysis, causing both acute and chronic groin pain. The condition can render sufferers incapable of sustained physical activity. There is no specific treatment for the condition.

The symptoms of osteitis pubis can include loss of flexibility in the groin region, a dull aching pain in the groin, or in more severe cases a sharp stabbing pain when running, kicking, changing directions, or even during routine activities such as standing up or getting out of a car.

You always have the liberty of selecting another orthopaedician and discuss about the symptoms you are having in detail for diagnosis and treatment.

Take care!
