Third meniscal tear in 13 months - is this unusual?

I have had two surgeries to partially removed medial meniscal tears - Nov 2015 was a parrot beak tear and October 2016 it was a complete tear. I am 8 weeks post-op and after a very simple slip I have pain back in my knee as it was before with both tears!

Is it possible I've torn it again? And is recurrent tears 'normal' one you start removing pieces? It seems too crazy that a simple slip could tear it so easy.

I'm 37, female, normal size 12 and I'm usually pretty active - not so much in the past year though.

Short answer yes.  Particularly after surgery since the muscles supporting that Knee are probably weaker.   I would get it checked out and start getting the muscles back in shape.
