foot pain

I have huge pain in my left foot, right below the middle toe. 7 years ago I went to the doctor and they told me I have like a growth on a nerve (I don't remember the name!), probably due to improper shoes. They gave me steroids shot, but my foot reacted badly....and it didn't go away anyway. Please help and advice. Is surgery the only option??? And if so, do you recommend any place in Chicago area? Thanks!

Hi,
It seems that you might be having Morton's neuroma. It is a benign tumour of the nerve fibres. Surgical excision would be appropriate.

Hi, you can get rid of the pain by getting the swelling surgically removed, may require couple of day complete rest. consult your orthopedician.
