Accuracy of Frozen Section

Hi,

Does anyone know the accuracy of frozen section biopsy.  I know if the results come back malignant it is 97% accurate.

I had a cyst removed and am waiting for my final pathology to come back.  The frozen section showed up as borderline - I would like to know what the chances are that the pathology will show up the same.  It was a large cyst 25cm - does this change the accuracy of the frozen section (as they only test a really small part)?

I guess the best I can hope for is that they come back borderline - suppose it is not possible that it is in-fact benign?

I'm really worried about getting the final results.

Thanks
Nat

I'm afraid I don't have any information for you either, but I wanted to wish you well and hope you get the best-case results you can! I'm having surgery tomorrow for my cyst.
