I have never heard of a link between adenomyosis and adenocarcinoma. What exactly is adenocarcinoma - I know it's a cancer, but what type?
Adenomyosis is sometimes called "endometriosis interna." It's just another form of endo. Instead of the endo tissue escaping the uterus and attaching itself to other organs in the abdomen, the endometrial tissue is actually in between the layers of muscle in the uterine wall. They're not sure how it gets in there.
I had a hysto for adenomyosis and fibroids. No one ever hinted that either could be dangerous, just that they were very painful and caused heavy bleeding during periods. Adenomyosis is not easy to get rid of, either, except by hysterectomy.
i had adenomyosis too, no word of the other from my doc. I was told everything was benign for me.
I don't know if there is a relationship. Would be good to know since my dr. feels that it is adenomysis that I have.
