After 6 years in remisison

Hi all,
I am new to this community, so I'm not sure exactly what to ask. But here goes, I'm wondering do any of you have experience with rising ca125 levels 6 years after treatment? My mom has been cleared from her oncologist, but her family dr is sending her back because her ca125 is in the 500s when after treatment is had gone back to the normal range. Does anyone have any insight into why after all these years it would go up again? Thanks so much everyone

The value seems to be high. However one test may be false, she will need to do another and confirm that it is rising. Even than, it will not be enough to say for sure she has cancer recurrence, it may be infection, heart etc. she will need to do a CT scan in addition to CA125 to make a sure diagnosis. It was right call to send her back to onco/gyn specialist. 6 years in remission is pretty good case! With best wishes for her, Alla

Unfortunately Ovarian Cancer usually comes back at some time. You can have no evidence of disease for years.
