Ah Heck!

I have 2 small tumors one on each ovary. One is 3cm one is 4 cm. Well its been a year since the finding of these cysts and because of my symptoms and amount of pain doctor is going to finally do surgery. My symptoms.....abdomen a little swollen, urinary problems..freguent urinary....use to have incontinence sometimes i have incontinence....the pain OMG the pain lower back both sides of my abdomen pain under my ribs...gastroinstinal problems...hurt when I walk...I have to use a body pillow....fatigue Basically I just cant function sometimes I cant eat. I cant work, I cant go to school. Suspect its endometriosis but ovarian cancer is also a suspect with my obgyn. Im scared, he is saying he might have to remove my ovaries...if  the endo? has overgrown everything he will do a hysterectomy with my consent...if its cancer then auto hysterectomy if needed. Im only 24....this all started because I vaginally hemrhoiged badly pouring blood. I didnt think cysts this small could be cancer. Removing my ovaries???!!! man I'm almost scared to even go through with surgery but to suffer and continue to put my life on hold is not an option. Luckily Ive had a child so I wont get to miss out on being a mommy but still. I just dont know what to do. I dont even know what im asking for that matter.

Did they ever run a CA-125?

Then again, even if it comes back normal, it can be false negative. If it comes back elevated, it is not unusual for it to be a false positive.

Ovarian cancer at your age is VERY rare. It happens but its rare, it really is. My obgyn told me when I was 40 that the chances of me getting ovarian cancer at my age are less than 1%. At your age the odds are even lower.

That said, if you decide for surgery, my recommendation would be to try to have it done by a gyn/oncologist because if it IS cancer, you want the oncologist to do the surgery and get it right the first time. Your prognosis will depend on it.

Yea, I knew it was rare but my symptoms match up also matches up with endo too however (the diesease mimic) and I keep getting worse week by week. Havent had the CA 125 yet, had a full panel blood work and one particular protein was slightly elevated. Expecting surgery this month anyways so whats the use of doing the blood work now. I really thinks its endo but different types of cancer run in my family.....my mom even developed stage 3 dysplasia at age 20 even though they say cervical cancer genes isnt they same as ovarian still and colon cancer runs in my family. I dont know what to think. I was wanting this surgery for relief of pain thinking it was just going to be simply removing cysts but now he is saying its possible I might have to have everything removed. If it is endo and there is scar tissue on everything I choose to not have everything removed not yet anyways. I'll just deal with it. My OBgyn will be doing the surgery.

Again, I strongly urge you to have the surgery done by a gyn oncologist, if you suspect cancer.

Yea my gyno will be doing the surgery. I just cant imagine it being cancer at my age. Now that he has said i might end up losing my ovaries I dont even know If I want surgery.
