Then again, even if it comes back normal, it can be false negative. If it comes back elevated, it is not unusual for it to be a false positive.
Ovarian cancer at your age is VERY rare. It happens but its rare, it really is. My obgyn told me when I was 40 that the chances of me getting ovarian cancer at my age are less than 1%. At your age the odds are even lower.
That said, if you decide for surgery, my recommendation would be to try to have it done by a gyn/oncologist because if it IS cancer, you want the oncologist to do the surgery and get it right the first time. Your prognosis will depend on it.
Yea, I knew it was rare but my symptoms match up also matches up with endo too however (the diesease mimic) and I keep getting worse week by week. Havent had the CA 125 yet, had a full panel blood work and one particular protein was slightly elevated. Expecting surgery this month anyways so whats the use of doing the blood work now. I really thinks its endo but different types of cancer run in my family.....my mom even developed stage 3 dysplasia at age 20 even though they say cervical cancer genes isnt they same as ovarian still and colon cancer runs in my family. I dont know what to think. I was wanting this surgery for relief of pain thinking it was just going to be simply removing cysts but now he is saying its possible I might have to have everything removed. If it is endo and there is scar tissue on everything I choose to not have everything removed not yet anyways. I'll just deal with it. My OBgyn will be doing the surgery.
Yea my gyno will be doing the surgery. I just cant imagine it being cancer at my age. Now that he has said i might end up losing my ovaries I dont even know If I want surgery.
