somebody please help

I did six treatments of carbo and taxol and my CA 125 numbers dropped from 390 to 24 and held through treatments. I then had a clear scan. Then we waited 8 weeks and had no treatments but then a second look surgery and very little was found but some cancer, not much. Three weeks later I started topotecan - that was an eleven week gap and my number was 167 on CA 125. I do once a week, My CA 125 rose through 5 one week treatments but dropped about 45 points yesterday after treatment 6. It is 191. My scan showed nothing at all except one enlarged lymph node below the diaphragm. That was it. I feel great and we are continuing the topotecan but, but, my oncologist , whio is very gruff poo pooed the CA 125 drop and was very much downplaying anything.  This has happened before. I have a chance to see another lady who is a gynecologic oncologist . My husband thinks I should . She told me that the scan was good and that the lymph gland can be handled and it may not be anything and that it does take a while for the topotecan to start working and my numbers are not that bad. Will somebody give me their thoughts and experiences on all of this. I am confused and my original dr makes me feel stupid if I ask anything. Thanks

I had to change oncologists, so I agree with Angie.  I had so much trouble with my first one I started to go into a depression.  It is important to trust that your oncologist is doing all possible and it is important to be able to communicate your wishes for a treatment plan. Good luck, Marie

Hi,
I have only had 6 carbo/taxol treatments so have not really been in your situation, but I would say that if you are not feeling confident and your present oncologist is making you feel negative I would most definately change oncologists. You need to have a fighting attitude for this disease as we all know !!.
Hope you find some answers soon, take care and let us know how you get on.

      Best wishes Angie
