Before the last surgycal in dec 2005 my CA 125 had normal value. Six weeks after the surgycal (last week) CA 125 was also normal. But I had three tumors and they excised all macroscopic not micro... So why I need a new chemo.
If you can ask your doc about this situation I am interested if is good or not to start now a new chemo, or later.

My Mom just had her first chemo and before treatment her CA125 = 68. Will see where its at in the next treatment. Not sure what her CA125 was before or after surgery TAH but 68 sounds good and hope it keeps dropping like crazy into the single digits. Best of Luck to you and all the women that are dealing with this diseas.
I misunderstood, Your not 84, did you go for chemo yet?
Getting Taxol and Carpo. Had 3rd treatment yesterday. Will need to go for six all together, I hope not more. Did you say you were 84, I met a patient there 89, she is doing very well. Side effects, joint ache, low white count and red count, lost weight, burning sensation up from stomach, nexium or pepcid helps. Numb and tingling in the hands and feet. No nausea, taking Kytril.
Your disease has a good response to chemo. You have a good chemo. Can you tell me about it? Have you secondary effects?
Also me I was diagn. as OC III C, but my CA 125 was< 35, with only one exception (84),after first surgery.

Hello - very similar responses - 273 after surgery, dropping to 87 after 1st chemo, then down into the 'normal' area by 3nd and down to 7 at the end. Looks like yours, luckily, might do the same. Have to admit however that it has come back 9 or so months later despite the good response, but they are putting me back on the same drugs for the 2nd chemo because it worked so rapidly last time. Hope that ie the relapse, doesn't happen to you. Best of luck.
Yes, I did have a debulking, all removed except for a small lesion on the wall of the bladder. Dr. did not want me to lose the bladder, but felt this could be taken care of with the chemo. Thanks for your responses, they are a big help!
Hi there,
Yes my responses to my first lot of chemo were the same as yours. My ca125 was 1500 before surgery,795 before first chemo,392 second and 75 after third.By the fourth it was down to 20 then it started levelling out,18,17 and 15 after my sixth chemo. It means its working-well done!
I hope that you get quick responses. Some of our friends here do not post regularly while they are undergoing their treatments. I do recall someone posting who had a CA-125 level that dropped to less than 10. I do not recall where the original level started, however.
By the way, this news means that your cancer is responding well to the chemotherapy treatment. Did you have an optimal debulking surgery prior to starting the chemotherapy?
