Can a yeast infection be related to hormonal issues?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew if a yeast infection can be related to hormonal issues?  Not to be discusting or anything, but I have a yeast infection (started today) and I have not been on antibotics or anything.  I was just wondering since I was "thrown" into surgical menopause if that could be related.  Any info would be great!  Thanks, Kasie

Hi
You know those probiotic drinks and stuff with the friendly bacteria in them. They are supposed to help you to avoid yeast infections, because if you put lots of the "friendly bacteria" inside then the yeast and things cant build up to levels that cause symptoms.

Just a suggestion, hope you get it sorted

I agree...I used to get chronic yeast infections which sometimes started or got worse during my period due to changes in hormone levels. Have you tried to over the counter stuff to get rid of it?

Yes! I believe so. I have read that although there is no direct link between menopause and yeast infections they can be caused by ERT

Hope this helps a bit
