Chemo

So my mother-in-law is now recovered from surgery and it in stage 3b. The chemo will be twice a week for 16 weeks. This seems like a lot of chemo to me but I am obviously not a doctor. Thoughts would be very much appreciated...... Has anyone gone through this much chemo before that can share....

Thanks!

Sometimes older patients have their chemo split in 2 doses it helps them handle the treatment better. My aunt had chemo three times a month but it was one third each week. You should find out what drug she is on and the dose to really understand what her doctor is doing.

This makes much more sense!
You got it right.  This is pretty standard.  Chemo every three weeks for a total of six treatments;  my treatments began three weeks after my surgery.
I wish your mother-in-law the very best.
Peace.

I originally received this news from my husband.... who had it totally wrong. It is one treatment a week for three weeks at a time for a total of 18 weeks.  Is this average? Any thoughts would be appriciated...........
