Complex cyst and free pelvic fluid

A CT scan of the pelvic area (to check on healing progress of a femoral neck fracture 9 months ago) turned up comments about "free pelvic fluid".  As a 61 year old woman, should I be concerned about the possibility of cancer?

(NOTE:  An Expert's answer in a August '06 Post under this same title (Ovarian Cancer Expert Forum-- Post 279196) seems to focus on pre-menopausal women.)

Thank you!

Free fluid can mean you need a D & C you should go to a gyn/oncologist for a pelvic exam and possible biopsy(which can be done in the office)

I think it would be a good idea to follow up to get an answer to your question.  I know I would want an explanation.
Peace.
