complex nabotian cyst

early in 2005 i went to see a gastro for stomach problems, constipation, pain and acid reflux.  i already took the rx protonix for the acid reflux and the problem was stable till early 2005.  he ordered an endoscopy and an emptying stomach scan.  the endoscopy confirmed the acid reflux so he just changed my meds to nexium 2x per day and zelnorm for the constipation.  the empty stomach scan  came back as abnormal.  there is no explanation for this abnormal result which is usually seen in patients undergoing chemotherapy or dx w/ diabetes.  he prescribed reglan which has helped my condition somewhat.  recently, i went to my gyn for irregular cycles.  he ordered horomone blood work and pelvic tv u/s.  the horomone prolactin was elevated so he referred me to an endocronologist.  this dr  said it was prob due to the reglan.  she ordered a fasting prolactin test which came back within normal limits.  she had also wanted a copy of by pelvic tx u/s.  as a result of those results, she now wants to do a hysteroscopy.  the gyn said that i have a complex cyst the size of a golf ball and wants to repeat the test in 6 weeks to see if it grows to a size of a grapefruit.  the results are simple cyst on the left ovary 3.3 x 2.3 x 2.7 cm, possible hydrosalpinx on the right, multiple follicles on the right ovary, complex nabothian cyst 12 x 9 x 20 mm, fluid in the endometrial canal.
i need to have peace of mind.  all i have read lead me to ovarian cancer or silent killer.  i am 42 with an infant & two older children. at this point i'd really like a hysterectomy. please repond.

in addition to my previous comments, i question if all stomach problems and pain i have been experiencing could all be related to the complex nabothian cyst that i've been dx w/.  all that i have read, others have those same symptoms.
please let me know your thoughts.

I'd want peace of mind as well.  Could you go to a different dr and ask for ultrasound without mentioning that you've already had one?  I don't understand waiting to see if the cyst grows to be the size of a grapefruit.  I haven't read about nabothian cysts so I dont' know if they cause symptoms like you are having.  Find a doctor you can talk to and who will take your concerns into account.  You could even mention that you were thinking about hysterectomy.  Hope you get your peace of mind soon.

thanks for your reponse.
i think if i went to another dr to order another u/s, health ins wouldn't cover it till the 6 wks recommended.  my gyn is who ordered the test.  they do have a gyn/onc that i have treated w/ in the past for uterine fibroids & had d&c.  my gyn refered me to the endocrinologist dr and she wants to do the hysterescopy, i'm not sure why or if she can view the complex nabothian cyst.  nabothian cyst from what i've read are cysts on the cervix, not ovaries, caused by blockage of the cervical glands.  the u/s report only says in that portion, "uterus measures 9.5x2.9x5.3 cm. there is a complex nabothian cyst 13x9x20 mm.  there is some fluid in the low uterine segment of the endometrial canal as well as fluid collection most cephalad within the endometrium.  this fluid measures 7x7x10 mm.
all i know is i haven't been well for a long time.   after reading similar situations, i now think that all of my symptoms are possibly related to this condition, whatever it may be. i really like my docs, their a great group with pennsylvania hospital.
thanks again for your response.  i really appreciate it.

When is the hysteroscopy scheduled for?  If it's sooner than 6 weeks at least you'll have some of your questions answered.
I always thought that nabothian cysts were on the outside part of the cervix like on the vagina side.  Will keep you in prayer, if that's alright.  Oh, I was reading about gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) on the site gicare.com
and they mentioned that diabetes is only one of the causes.  Hypothyroidism is another but that is uncommon, but possible.
Hope things get straightened out soon.  Keep us posted.
