Chemo

My mom has ovarian cancer. She has been in remission for about 6 months and is having a scan done next week. She told me that her oncologist said that she is not eligigable for any mor chemo....if they find anything. She has been on the chemo pills for 6 months for maintenance.I don't understand that. She was on chemo for 6 months and responded really well to that.Is there point where you can't have any more chemo. Thank you...Lisa

I think that may have been a misunderstanding. Possibly, they meant that she would not receive the SAME chemo again - rather, a different one. The will keep trying - unless your mom has a health condition that wouldn't allow further chemo, but I think that is pretty rare, and I never heard of it early in the race.

Hopefully she will have a clean scan though - good luck!
