HEY DEAR...
I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO, THAT IS HOW I FELT. BUT, I FEEL LIKE THIS IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. WITH PRAYER AND SUPPORT FROM MY HUSBAND, AND FAMILY, I'M GOING TO DO THIS. I'VE BEEN HURTING FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW, OFF AND ON. MY HUBBY GOT TIRED OF ME SAYING I WAS HURTING AND SAY YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DR. THIS IS WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH: LOWER BACK AND FRONT PAIN, MY LOWER STOMACHE. I'VE HAD A LOW GRADE FEVER FOR ABOUT 6MONTHS. 99.4 - 99.6. NAUSA FROM TIME TO TIME, AND PAIN DURING INTERCOURSE, ESPECIALLY AFTERWARDS.
I WANT YOU TO KNOW YOU LADYS ARE A BLESSING!! THANK YOU.
THE CYST I HAVE HAS BLOOD IN IT. HEMETOMINA..HOW EVER YOU SPELL IT, AND IT IS COMPLEX...IS IT POSSIBLE THAT ITS PRE-CANCEROUS?
OR WHY AND WHAT CAUSES THIS...THANK LADYS...
HELLO TO ALL FRIENDS!!
THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS..I DID GO TO 2 DOCTORS, I'M SORRY IF I DIDN'T POST THAT...I WENT TO A COLON DR. FIRST AND THEN I WENT TO MY gyne/onc. THEY BOTH AGREED THAT I SHOULD BE WATCHED AND MONITERED SO, THAT IS WHAT I DID 3 MONTHS LATER. MY gyne/onc DOCTOR IS ONE OF THE BEST AROUND, SO, I DO TRUST HIS OPINION. ITS BECAUSE OF THE GROWTH THAT'S IN IT IS WHY THEY ARE CONCERNED...THANK YOU ALL FOR THE GREAT REPLYS...I SURE NEEDED THEM...NO MATTER WHAT..I WILL PRAISE THE LORD!!
Plain and simple...you should get a second opinion and it is imperative it be with a gyn/oncologist.....in the event you do need surgery, and they do find something...he is definately the one you want there working on you....whether it is benign or not! A confident physician is not unhappy when a patient requests a second opinion....just ask him for a consult with or referral to a gyn/oncologist. He will probably appreciate your being involved in your own care.
Peace.

Welcome to the site, you are in very good company here as we've all been through the stress and worry of cysts and other gyne problems. I just want to echo what Tascha has already said, the majority of cysts are completely harmless but you need to get a gyne/onc to do your surgery. It's best having someone who knows exactly what they are doing and in the unlikely event it is something nasty they have the expertise in removing it correctly. Please also remember the docs do tell you it could be something sinister in case that's what they find so firstly your're prepared and secondly you don't sue them, so please don't worry too much by his comment.
I had a similar situation. I went into see the doctor one day and approx 15 days later I had surgery to remove a grapefruit size cyst and my right ovary. My doctor had also told me that mine had some debris in it and it needed to come out right away. After the surgery he told me that it was bleeding into itself therefore the debris he saw was blood. I am happy to report that my cyst was benign!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers through your ordeal. Please find peace in knowing that all of the women on this site are truly wonderful people, don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have.
Tammy
Welcome. I agree with getting a 2nd opinion. Please try to remember that 99% of ovarian cysts, tumors, & masses are BENIGN!! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed

CAN YAW TELL ME WHAT A COMPLEX CYST IS ???? I'M JUST NOT SURE...
Complex means it's not a plain fluid-filled balloon. It may have septations (little walls) in it, and it may be a mix of fluid and some solid stuff.
If a gyn/onc wants to take it out, I'd go along with him. It's probably benign but best to be sure.
It has been interesting reading this information. I had an ultrasound last January because of a uterine fibroid that I have had since the early 90's. There were two cysts on my left ovary and signs of calcification. My GP recommended a follow up ultrasound which I had in March and there was no change. She then referred me to an OB/GYN. The OB/GYN had me wait another month and I did a 3rd ultrasound in April. Still no change. The CA125 blood test came back in an acceptable range (19). This is being closely monitored because my sister had Stage I ovarian cancer last year. She is the only family member who has had this type of cancer. I am also experiencing weight gain and cannot tell if it is just the return of 20 lbs I lost or bloating. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease but have been having debilitating back pain for the past year and recent chiropractic treatments haven't helped much. Could this all be related? OB/GYN is recommending ovary removal and I have put her off until the end of a busy season at work. Now I am second guessing and thinking I should proceed. I left a message with the doctor's office yesterday that I would like a CT Scan. Is that reasonable? Should I seek the opinion of a Gyn/Oncologist as you have recommended to others? I'm a little scared at this point in time and am concerned about how detrimental it would be for me to prolong the inevitable just to get more answers. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Becky
If you trust your doctor and you feel safe with him, then go with your instincts. I also had a complex septated cyst that was 9cm and my doctor removed it within 2 weeks due to the pain and just to make sure all was well. I'll be praying for you. Kasie
You should probably receive a second opinion. If the doctor is really concerned to want to do surgery that soon. He should respect you to make an appointment and get all your questions answered and receive a second opinion if you so desire. I would strongly recommend a second opinion with a gyn/onc. they are the experts in this field.
