Getting a second opinion is the best thing you could do. It will help ease you mind. Make sure you find someone who is willing to listen to you and about your family history. I will be praying for you. Kasie
A GYN/ONC is your best bet. I suffer with cysts as well so I know how bad they can hurt. Take a list of your questions to the doctors appt. with you so you can ask him/her everything!! You are in my prayers.
iam going to get it check out next week sometime, i didnt know i have it til i was sitting on the potty and the pain hit me like a brick and i 'd doubled over. my wbc was very low and they did a CT on me.
I would suggest getting a second opinion off another gyne, you said you diagnosed with an ovarian cyst at 14 and had a lap at 17 which went ok, how do you know you have another cyst have you recently had an US or is it the original because this seems a long time to be left with a cyst especially 4 inches as this seems quite large, can you ask your gyne to confirm it is inches and not cm's, please remember that most cysts are completely harmless and nothing to worry about but I would definately suggest seeking a second opinion.
I would highly suggest a 2nd opinion with a gyn/onc. Not because of cancer, but that they are specialists and have seen it all and would be able to treat you and give you the care that you need. Remember 99% of ovarian cysts are benign. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed

there's breast cancer in my family and all the girls in my family has had Hysterectomies, and all the doctors here in austin texas they just want to put me on bc pills, without checking my hormone levels.
All I can suggest is to find a gyn you're really comfortable with. What type of cancer is in your family history? Has anyone ever suggested genetic testing? You may want a consultation with a gyn/oncologist, they're the experts in cysts and cancer risk.
Good luck!
