Hey,
Just wanted to write and let you know that my surgery went pretty well. I think I have updated that about 96% of all visiable cancer was removed and the rest that was on my sm. bowells was bathed in as well as the rest of the peritoneal cavity with heated cisplatin at time of surgery. Cancer was found near lymph nodes as well so Onc says some systemic chemo will be needed. Haven't talked yet about what or how much. I am still in the hosp. since my Sept. 21st. surgery. I have not had any nausea, and my pain has been mostly controlled with a PCA. The last two days I have been given the green light to start eating and drinking on my own as bowel sounds and tones have returned (Nasal Gastric Tube removed, which was the worst thing about this so far, feels so good to have it out) I have noticed that I am very tired, but I try and walk as much as I can. Also food tastes different like when after receiving chemo, and I just kind of feel yukky like when on chemo. I will have no hair loss from this and my lab values are not really affected. Of course I will have those S&S with my systemic chemo, which is okay. I have not had a tumor marker yet or have but do not know the no. yet, that should be interesting and is what I would like to know. Overall I think this surgery even though lengthy and quite a long hospital stay, so far was worth it. I will keep u informed on my markers no.'s and also re systemic chemo. Has anyone heard how Christina is doing with her IP chemo. I have tried to contact but no luck. Thanks everyone for your kind words and support.
