Endometrian biopsy

When I go in for my next appointment my doctor is probably going to do a biopsy of the endometriosis.  Has anyone had this procedure performed?

I had an endometrial biopsy a few months ago. Mine was not scheduled, but I have read that when they are you are advised to take 800 mg. of ibuprofen an hour before. Call your doctor's office and ask about this. I did that before cervical punch biopsies, and they were uncomfortable but manageable. The endometrial biopsy with no pain reliever almost had me hit the ceiling, and my pain tolerance is generally pretty good.

It's a quick and small procedure, but I would take the max amount of pain reliever/anti-inflammatory ahead of time and wouldn't willingly undergo it again without.

That said, don't worry, it's an everyday thing. All best to you. I like to have a hand to squeeze if the nurse is willing. :)

The 3 times were over a period of about 10 years, I've had normal paps for about the last 10 years.. Knock on wood!! Just dealing with lovely cysts right now.

Hi Nikkipoo,
I was just reading your comments and i just wanted to add that i had that gas treatment in the late 1980's for dysplasia, pre-cancer cells. It didn't do anything. That's maybe why you have had 3 of them. I then went to another gynocologist in Toronto and he did lazer. Since then my paps have been coming back fine.
His comment though, as i remember, was, "Why do they do the gas - i don't remember what they call it in actual medical terms....it doesn't work." I would suggest looking into this or atleast asking your doctor about lazer treatment of the cervix.
Sincerely,
Wrinkly and Crumbly

I haven't had it for that but I've had (3) biopsys (sorry if I spelled that wrong) for pre-cancerous cells after bad paps and ended up having freezing treatments everytime.  They were all done in the doctors office and no pain & recovery was fast & slight spotting afterwards. I would think it would be done the same, hopefully someone else has had it done and can shed more light. :)
