questions endo or ovarian cancer?

Nor sure if I am posting this in the right place but here goes....I am a 35 year mom of 2 boys. For several years (6+) I have nausea quite frequently and abdominal/low pelvic pain....I have had numerous GI test done and the test all came out negative...Since then the pain has gotten worse, especially during menstruation, my obgyn sent me to a urologist, he said everything was fine with my bladder and kidneys and all, he did say my ovaries looked clear of any cancer,  BUT can he see my ovaries by doing an exam where he puts a light up in you to see????, I went back to my obgyn and he sent me to have a vaginalultrsound and everything appeared normal on it...He has scheduled me for a laparoscopy surgery on Monday the 8th of October, he mentioned it maybe endometriosis, but being the worrier I am I look up stuff on this computer and it mimics ovarian cancer. I am terrified of that...Anyone else had these issues? I will know after surgery on Monday what he finds but until then I will worry myself into a frizzy!
What are the symptoms others have experienced with Endometriosis and / or ovarian cancer? Any help will be greatly appreciated..Thanks and God Bless

Bless Y'all for the answers! I am having the laparoscopy done on Monday, please pray those of y'all that pray! I know I certainly pray for y'all now after finding this site. I am terrified and I know it's normal to be. In one way you want them to find the cause of your pain and in another you pray they don't. I have read and read and everything comes up endo or OVCancer..I have had numerous test as I stated above and all was ok, still doesn't stop you from worrying yourself into a frizzy...I mean the symptoms of endo are basically those of OVCancer...Thank Y'all

I too am an endo gal. I had my surgery back in 2001, and it has never returned. I couldn't walk straight up. I had to hunch over and hold my stomach to walk just to the bathroom. I took a week off work I was in so much pain (its now 2007 and I can still feel that pain, I'll never forget that feeling). Especially when I went to bathroom. Turns out the endo was between my uterus and bladder. I don't recall a stage or anything like that but I saw the pictures. I really don't recall any other symptom. I had always had bad cramps, but this time they were bad. When the doctor said probably endo, and mentioned laporoscopy. I said schedule it, that I don't want to go through another period like that. I mean get real who can afford to take off a week every month. Just relax and remember to rest after surgery don't try to do too much. You will be sore. Also maybe pick up some GasX. The gas they used to expand your stomach can cause some pain. Good Luck

I had the same symptoms you two are talking about when I was pre-menopausal.....later I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer....make certain you have the opinion and assistance of a gyn/oncologist from now on.....don't take any chances.
Peace.

Yes, I too had that horrible pain during my period, usually the first day that had me doubled over.  I even had to stop pull over to the shoulder one time during driving.  Mine turned out to be stage 4 endometriosis, which I never knew I had, and never had symptoms of for too long.  It scares you when you start reading too much stuff on line because each and every one of us is different and our symptoms are not identical for every disease, so its easy to read into the information too much and let our minds get carried away. Funny how the internet has opened up such a world of easy information for us, but at the same time, too much info can be scary and confusing.  Its good that we have access to forums like this where we can comfort one another and share information.  Good luck to you and god bless!  Shannon

Yes, I too had endometriosis, and when I "googled" in my symptoms, ovarian cancer came up.  That is what happens to most people and it does cause anxiety.  No, if the urologist did a cystoscopy and looked in your bladder with a light, there is no way for him to see your ovaries.  Did he do a CT scan or ultrasound to make that comment?  If you had the vaginal ultrasound by your gyn and it was normal then that is good.  They cannot diagnose endo with an ultrasound.  So I am thinking that since you ovaries look look on ultrasound, and everything appears normal, and since endo doesn't show up with any of those tests, it most likely is endo.  Endo can cause pain, and in my case urinary frequency, and all kinds of other things that mimic cancer.  Try to relax a bit.  Focus on relaxing and getting prepared for the upcoming surgery, take walks outside.  Good luck, I am sure everything will work out fine!  Shannon
