questions

I posted some time ago about many symptoms for over year now. Due to your suggestions I had a recent ultrasound and it showed a 3cm complex cyst on right ovary. My right ovary had a 26.6 volume compared to 6.7 on left. There was also fluid which was just a little over normal in the culdesac. They referred me to a fertility specialist to do that laparoscopy due to me wanting children in the near future. I had my initital consult with the nurses at fertility clinic and after hearing my my symptoms got a kinda weird expression and said Honey, I know you're young but I think you'd be best off to see a gynecologist oncologist. So now the Drs at the fertilty clinic say that they would like me to have a CA125 and if it's elevated they would like a gynecologic-oncologist to do it as they don't have one on staff there which would mean a referral back to the same hospital just different dr. My current Dr who did ultrasound and referred me to fertilty clinic says that my CA125 will be elevated b/c of the severe endometriosis I have. What are your feelings about this CA125. I have had 2 prior laps and each time the endo was noted as severe and chocolate. I'm about at the end of my rope with these unanswered questions. So I am having the CA125. Doing it tomorrow morning and I'm thinking I could possibly be referred to gyno-onc for no reason.
Anyway, sorry if this is all jumbled I'm just kinda confused.

I totally agree with dian. At least you can exclude OVCA which is the very important part in your whole process.

Hello....I think the doctors at the fertility clinic are right on the money......you definately need to be seen by a gyn/oncologist and, more to the point, that is who you want doing your surgery.....they are the specialists in this area.  If your desire is to retain your fertility that is definately who you want at your side during surgery.  YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME....see a gyn/oncologist.....don't take a chance with the wrong surgeon.  I tip my hat to the fertility clinic!  Please do keep us posted and good luck.
Peace.
