Old fashioned pot roast and Robert Mondavi merlot here, in the Pacific Northwest, Spanaway/Graham, WA.  My husband is retired Air Force, as is my father.

Really beautiful day here today.  Warm, no rain and lots of sunshine.  Love, hugs and God bless, Barb

Sun is shining and not a cloud to be seen - a balmy 29 degrees celcius forecast today - I'm sure it's warmer than that!! No snow for sure!! T-shirt and short kind of weather.

Good evening, Ladies!  I,too, have connections with the military.  I am a 56 year old army brat....I also lived at Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, and I could name many others. We were always stateside, except for Hawaii. My dad was the Commander of The Big Red One in Europe when agent orange took its toll; he was 52 years old and a Major General when he died.
My husband #3 (I finally got it right; married 28 years now) served in Viet Nam.
I live in Northwest Iowa (30 miles form the Minnesota border). It is very windy and quite cold these days, but Spring is just around the corner; I can feel it in my previously broken leg!
I will bring the game Twister to the party; if those margaritas keep flowing we will all be quite limber and loose! Sounds like fun to me!
Peace in the morn', Ladies. Let's have fun tonight!

Hmmmm...I have heard those Eastern Canadians are into good wines, I am out here in "Brokeback" Western Canada!  All I know is "red" or "white" but there are some great winery tours in British Columbia, Canada (hic).  I am getting cross eyed, that Merlot doesn't mix well with my Percocet who wants mine?  Right now it is -16 Celcius (sorry no idea what that is in American!) (but darn cold) and about a foot of snow.
I liked "Crash" but I'd love to see Reese win...:)

We have more in common than you know.  My father also succombed to the effects of agent orange at the age of 57.  What a small world and getting smaller.  Glad to know you, my sister.

It's 12.15pm here and I'm off to take the kids for a swim so I'll check in with u when I return to see if the party's still going(still not allowed to drive, so #1 son is at the wheel and feeling pretty special to be so needed by his mum!) The chardonnary is cooling in the fridge, so I'll crack it once I get back!!

A hopping party!  I've got some leftover vanilla birthday cake with lemon icing for my families collective birthdays this month (b-in-law, aunt, mom, dad) to share.  It's scrumptious.  And for the chocolate lovers, my 5-kid niece insisted we bake an extra one in choc choc chip.

HI...I just got here to the party, my very first one, too!....sorry to be late! Kids had the computer all day, didn't know you started w/o me. Had all 4 grandkids today and 2 are staying over for the second night.

Had to go into town for a work dinner for hubby. But am back now in jammies and fuzzy slippers. Got to wear my new pretty suit I got and didn't wear at Christmas and dang if it wasn't hard to zip and hurt my tummy all night!!!! Stupid, stupid bloat!

I am sorry but I think I need to stick to plain pepsi tonight. Last time I had the margarietas I embarressed myself...in front of the kids no less. Just stupid and silly not bad or anything but I MUST maintain my cridebility...OH what the heck. They are in bed. Set me up with a fuzzy navel please, and I'll break out my 7 layer mexican dip and home made pita chips!

Thanks for the invite...mighty nice of you'all!

Mondavi is a Napa Valley winery, but you are right there's some really good Washington ones.  We just went to one up in the Woodenville area, the Columbia Winery, and took a tour.  We bought their Reisling that is made exclusively for the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train.  We took the ride from Renton up to the winery, had dinner on the way up, dessert on the way back and toured the winery.  It was really a bunch of fun.  We also acquired a new favorite - Whidbey Island Port, also a Washington wine.  Absolutely delicious, especially with those really yummy no flour chocolate cake things. . . tonight I bought a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for our dessert.  Should be good.

Hey, I'm on husband #3 as well, and it is definitely "three's a charm" out here too.  17 years with my #2, #1 doesn't count. . . #2 is a REAL weiner - just sent a birthday card for our daughter and he addressed it to the wrong kid, inside the card too. . .

Later ladies.  It's dinner time.  Love, hugs and God bless, Barb
