Gas Paoins ???

What more can I say  but HELP.   I had my Laprascopy done yesterday and they cells were LMP ( Low malginent potential) which i good i guess.
BUT i need but needed advice on how to get these darn gass pains out of my shoulder.  I came home and went to lay down in my bed and BAM the pain that went from my stomach shot up to my right shoulder blade then trying to get up fast was not a good idea either cause then it went back around my rib cage.
I took my pain killer about 20 minutes and probbaly will nodd off in my rocking chair.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Joan

I was given vicodon pills when I left the hospital. Instead of taking 2 pills every 6 hours, I took one pill over 6 hours and I believe they helped me get through the gas pains for the 2 days after surgery. I had my left ovary removed due to 2 cysts.

Hot tea and Gas X... they help. I took gas-x and was drinking tea from the moment I got home (I'd read about them in earlier posts) and they really did help, since I had the whole swelly-belly thing, but only one instance of the shoulder pain. And WOW, was that one of the most painful things ever! I had someone massaging the shoulder to help move the gas along, and that helped too, but it was the most painful 10 minutes I'd ever had.
There's also a Maalox/Gas-X combo product out there... the Maalox helped with stomach discomfort and prevented more gas from starting, and the gas-x got rid of what was already there.
The gas pains suck, but hang in there! They do get better~!

I had to sleep sitting in the recyliner for two days because the gas was in my shoulder and it hurt to much to lay down. Try the tea and gas x. I know it hurts but this too shall pass. Hope you get to feeling better.

Hi there, take a warm bath and move around as much as you can. I used the Gas X too and it helped some. It should feel better in a couple days.

Joan,
I am glad to see you on the Rs.  I am sorry that you are having such troubles with the gas pains.  Try drinking a glass of hot tea and try using a heating pad on you stomach or where you are feeling the pain.  Hope things come out benign.  Keep us posted.  Kasie

I've heard moving around will help get the air pockets out.  You might want to try GasX as well.  I am to have my laparotomy next week to remove a suspicious ovarian growth, so let me know if this really does work.
