I thought that in the study they put the ginger directly onto the cancer cells. If you ingest ginger, my guess would be you'd have to take a whole lot for it to reach the cancer cells. I seriously doubt that a tablet will do any good in that area, although ginger is great for a lot of other things. I just wish there was a ginger chemo...like infusing it directly into the bloodstream, by the bag - I'd be willing to try that.
I started taking ginger as soon as I read the article. But I don't take tablets. I buy fresh ginger, cut a 1" inch piece off and squeeze the juice from it (use a garlic presser). I add about 1-1/2" of water. Then I swish it around in my mouth (like mouth wash) before I swallow it. I'm not saying tablets are bad, but I always wonder what stomach acid does to them. I also think that if Nitro tablets under the tongue can stop a heart attack, then my swishing ginger around until I can't stand it any longer (it packs a kicker!) will get in my blood stream just like the nitro does. That's my thoughts on ginger ... and I'm sticking to them!! Have a great day all.
This is really interesting - I've just read the article. They are saying that is causes the cells to die in one of two ways - which could help in the future with ovca who become reistant to chemotherapy. I'm going to start taking ginger tablets this week - even though they have not proved anything in animals yet I don't see what the harm is in taking ginger in the meantime, it has no bad side effects. I got a book out of the library yesterday called the 'Dries Cancer Diet' has anyone heard of this?
I drink a delicious green tea that has ginger in it. Getting both at one shot!
Yes I was reading some things about ginger and cancer as well.
Hey, i found it--plus it helps with colon cancer, too!
Go to google - put in ovarian cancer and ginger.
I have heard ginger for any kind of abdominal woes, but hadn't heard of its effectiveness against OvCa yet.
Thanks for sharing.
