HAS ANYONE HAD SUCH A SMALL CA125 DROP?

My Moms starting CA125 was 7700.  Following surgery, 2100.  After one chemo round back up to 6000.  The Dr. assured us that it's not unsual...any experiences out there?

Mom was not able to do a complete debulking, hopes are to do so in June after 3 to 4 rounds of chemo.  Why the bigger drop  of CA125 after surgery, when they only took a "fist" full of cancer?

This is why I don't keep track of my #s.  I don't know my # before I had surgery to remove my one ovary.  They were removing it because endo kept growing back on it.  This time it came back postive for cancer.

After surgery my #65.  I was hoping it was that high because I still had more endo, but that was not the reason.  First chemo went down to 18.  Second chemo went to 10.  Thrid chemo went back up to 16.  I completely freaked out at that point and said no more keeping track of my #..........it was stressing me out way too much.

Two months after the chemo I had the complete surgery.  All pathlogy came back clear.  I almost a year out from chemo and everything looks good.

I would go by how your mom is feeling, eating and her energy level.  There is someone else here who has high #s and feels great all the time.  Your mom is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am really trying hard to put into words exactly what I am trying to say.....the overall number is not what matters, it matters that it drops or rises....the number does not relate to the "amount" of cancer left in her body or taken out of her body.  Right now the important thing is that the numbers continue to decline and that the debulking surgery in June is a huge success.

Good luck to you and your mom.  Your family will be in my thoughts.
