Anyone heard from Melenzbee83?

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Mel? She went in to have surgery last week to remove some recurrent cancer  and I'm wondering how she's doing.
Mel, if you read this, I'm thinking about you and I hope your surgery went well!
Take care,
Becky

You have been through so much, I am so sorry to hear this!!! You definitely need to take it easy from that surgery, weeks of recovery, especially now that you are having chemo too. Do you have help? I hope that you have lots of friends and family to help you through all of this. I imagine how overwhelmed you are. We are here for you!!! Hugs, Colleen

Wow...you've certainly been through the ringer lately...that sounds like a major surgery you had. I'm glad your healing so well but take it easy...sometimes when we feel good, we tend to do more stuff than we should be doing. Now's the time to rest and heal...
I'm happy that the doctor's got everything but your right, this should have been done years ago. I'm in the same boat...I've been trying for almost three years to have surgery again and I just know, when it finally does happen, it's going to be so much worse than anyone is thinking. I have such a love/hate relationship with doctor's these days...
Are you having chemo through a stomach port? How's that going for you? I'm honestly surprised they started you that quick...I thought you would need more time to heal before beginning chemo. I hope it hasn't been too rough on you.
Stay in touch,
Becky

Hi ladies,
Okay so update, had my full pelvic clearance two weeks ago now, removed my utuerus, ovary, scraped everything, removed tumour from liver, diaphragm and had to do a bowel reconstruction after removing another tumour. Spent two nights in ICU and stayed in hospital for total of 10 days, have a 30cm vertical cut from my boobs to my pelvic area.

Despite how major this 6 hour surgery was, I have been healing really well, both specialists were amazed that i could get out of bed (even if only 10 steps) after just 3 days. I was in tears in hospital as i was told two weeks recovery before chemotherapy, however a cancellation became open and i had to start just one week after with a very sore abdomin and port. I currently have chemo on day 1,2 and 8 in 3 week cycles and i have 6 lots of these so 18 weeks altogether. The first day is taxol IV and the 2nd is csytpin? or something through port, day 8 taxol through port.

As you can imagine i am frustrated, angry, overwhelmed after wanting a full pelvic clearance 2 years ago when it was borderline. I guess a positive is my surgeon said all growths were ON not IN  my organs? (which means?) and all were successfully removed? So i dont really think the docs know as they have said i am a very complicated case. My ca125 was also only 159? I cant even begin to look at staging, grading etc cause mine seems to be so different to the norm. I am trying to stay positive but my world is literally falling apart around me and I am constantly feeling sick about everything.

Thankyou so much for being concerned about me it really does mean alot to me.

Anyone have any advice etc that would be great, Im off to get a wig this weekend.
Mel.

No, but I am wondering how things are going, too.  I know folks stay in the hospital much longer post-surgery in Australia than they do here, so she may not even be home yet. Looking forward to hearing from her and hoping all is well!
