Thanks to all of your responces. I am upset because it seems as if they act like it isn't a big deal. I am frustrated because I never have the energy to work out and if I do anything physical, I pay for it. My groin and legs kill me and I get cramps for days. I will keep you all posted if I every get any answers. Its nice to know you all are out there. Thanks
hi, my response was directed at you, sorry. regards and hope you are doing ok and on the mend, karen
Oh, yes, I know. I have both my grandmothers' "health books." One dates from the 1910s and the other from the 1920s. They are hysterical. However, it is amazing to me how things have changed --- in techniques, treatment, equipment, and understanding of conditions --- in just the past 15 years that I have made an occupation out of "waiting in doctors' offices"!
hi, just to let you know you're not alone. i had surgery on thursday last week and my cyst was left alone and not biopsied. it has been there over 18mths now and it is hemmoragtic. i was furious to come around and find i was no better off than before. he has said that he would biopsy the cyst by removing the whole ovary at a later date. i don't know what to do now, am i going to have surgery again or listen that he can tell its definately not malignant just by looking at it. he says its just blood filled because he can see blood in the corner. i feel for you having to wait too. keep us posted. kind regards, karen
You are always there to help. Thanks. To answer you, The doc that did the lap was my second opinion. I am not sure if that was smart but he seemed very involved and helpful. He told my mom after surgery that he didn't have my us results. She asked about the cyst and calc and he said calc he sees alot and is not concerned and as for the cyst he thought it had burst. Later when I spoke I asked about the cyst and how did he know it was gone and he said he didn't. That he said because it was not big enough to protrude the ovary he wasn't sure if it was still there. No I did not have endo. He said I might in my uterus but only way to tell is to take it out. I am soo frustrated. Still in pain with no relief. He will order the us in 2months to check on cyst. does any of this make sense to you. can the cyst cause these symptoms since it is only 1/2 size of ovary? Also should I be concerned about 4mm calcification in other ovary. I just don't understand why I am in so much pain. I still have pink mucous and I sometimes feel like I am getting ready to give birth. My pelvic bone kills me and the pain goes down my thighs terribly. Sex is painful and it aggrevates the cramping for days. I feel like I just have to live with it. Yes he just closed me up and now says on the 11th he will discuss further less invasive testing. Don't you just love it.
Well, all that does not sound good. In my opinion, it was irresponsible for the doctor to perform the surgery without a fesh, clear idea about your imaging results. It may very well be that you have a cyst that is completely inside the ovary, and he will not be able to see that without imaging equipment.
Pain is one way the body tells us that something is wrong. Have you seen a pain management specialist? Often these specialists have experience with causes of chronic pain and can find the root cause of your complaint. I feel for you. Truly.

Neat little bit of history. You would probably get a kick out of a book I asked my Mom if I could have years ago. I don't know where she got it. It was part of a series and the one I have is What a Young Women Ought to Know. It was published in 1900. Some way off base information in it. I hit my teens in the late 60's so reading this was a hoot.
Pelvic congestion seems to be a hot topic on this board recently.
As I posted previously, that is more or less an old-fashioned term that dates from the 1800s. Some women suffered from a rather specific set of symptoms, and doctors really did not understand what caused these symptoms, and thus they gave the set of symptoms a name that reflected the condition" pelvic congestion.
These days, doctors consider most causes of "pelvic congestion" to be endometriosis or fibroids. Read the list of symptoms of these three "conditions" and you will see that they are more or less the same. Add in high fevers and infections, and you have the symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease.
What exactly did your doctor do during your surgery? He was presumably going in to inspect your ovary which contained a calcified cyst. He did not visualize a cyst inside an ovary, so he just closed you up and sent you home? Did he say that he did not see endometriosis? Or, are you just guessing that you do not have endo? What about fibroids?
Can you make an appointment with another doctor?
