I think what your doctor is suggesting is correct. Since the area of concern has gotten somewhat larger, it is probably best not to wait and watch any longer.
You might want to post your question on the medical side of this forum. Keep us posted and good luck!

Thanks Linda- Where on the medical side is the forum?
Have the lap done. I'll tell you, I had EXACTLY what you did, almost the same size, mural nodule, no blood flow to the nodule, calcification etc. Mine was a BENIGN cystadenoma on the fallopian tube. These can occur on the ovary as well. They thought mine was but it turned out it was on the tube. I do know my surgeon friend told me that no blood flow into the nodule (the part where the cancer would most likely be if there was any) is very good as cancer needs to be fed. If the cyst is in your ovary or having off by a stalk, it makes some sense that there would be blood flow around it since the ovary is fed by blood to keep it alive.
Hope this helps!
I was also told mine might represent a neoplasm. I think that's standard fare on an ultrasound report on anything they can't truly identify, which is most.
Neoplasm is a scary word for "new growth" Meaning anything-benign or malignant
Precisely. I sounds like such an ugly word though, eh?
errr, I meant IT sounds like such an ugly word. God am I tired today and it will get worse when I end up spending the next 7 nights in a hotel room with three children then get to drive all three back from Massachusetts to VA while they squabble and ask "Are we there yet?" twelve trillion times!!!!
Hi again, you can post questions to medical personnel if you click at the top of the forum on "Ovarian Cancer Answers". Just post a question there and you will see an answer the same or the next day :-)

Thanks!!!! I tried to post my question there, but it says there are only so many questions they can take each day. Oh well!! I'll try again tomorrow. I am having lower back pain, and my abdomen is so bloated I can barely button my pants. I know I just had a baby 4 months ago, but the weight is supposed to be coming off, Under the right part of my rib cage is a dull ache, I also keep getting a pain in my right shoulder, weird, I don't know if any of these symptoms is from the mass on my ovary or what....I am so scared....so so scared and I don't want to wait until Setember 1 for the surgery I want to know now what it is!!Have any of you gone through this too?
We all have been there and are going there. It's a fear like no other. Lots of us took anti-anxiety meds to get through the waiting period. I got some but didn't take it as I had someone who carried my emotional burden for me along with the great ladies here. Don't make me a hero for it though - I still have the scrip :) I can tell you that most cysts under 5 cm are benign and that benign cystadenomas can have a nodule. Apparently, mine wasn't even a nodule even though it looked like one on US -- sometimes the ultrasound visualizes things that can't be positively identified. Good to be on the conservative side though.
Don't be afraid to post, post, and post again here. We all share your fears and don't roll our eyes. We get it!!

i just had my ultrasound. i just want to know what is DOMINANT OVARIAN FOLLICLES, LEFT. And it says, right ovary is unenlarged with developing follicles noted. Is it dangerous or bad my case?
