Anyway you get through cancer is the right way for you. I had the best diet ever before I got cancer. Now my diet is not as good. I am just lucky I eat at all. I had stopped eating and was 40 pounds under weight for the first year after my cancer surgery. Now if I want a burger and fries I have a burger and fries. When I was going through chemo exercise was out of the question for me. I slept 22 hours a day, but I got through it. there is no right or wrong way. I wanted to deck perky people who said during chemo you have to exercise and eat a special diet.

I agree with you Alex. Cancer treatment is unaffordable by the people like us. Treatment of cancer needs medicines and in addition it needs completely healthy and nutritious diet. My friend had ovarian cancer, she got full surgery treatment and then 2 round of chemotherapy. Yes, She is doing well now but issues like backache, nose bleeding, tiredness are the part of her life now. She is only 20.

It is so hard to watch a loved one have Cancer. My father had very bad Cancer but lived 17 years with it. It was harder to see him with Cancer than it is for me to have Cancer.Knowing I would lose him made it harder. My Cancer is harder on my husband because he imagines my pain and he fears losing me. I feel bad for him. My biggest fear is leaving him by himself. I wish I had some real suggestion. If your mum has access to any pain medication I would say keeping her comfortable is most important. My biggest pain was when the tumors pressed on my diaphragm and it hurt and was hard to breathe. Luckily after my surgery that went away. I am sorry about the blood clot.

I am not a doctor. What usually kills women with Ovarian Cancer is blocked bowels. If they can take the tumor out and her bowels are not blocked she could live. I am stage 4 and had the full surgery and six rounds of chemo. My CA125 went back up so I have had 6 more rounds of chemo. I wish she was somewhere where she could get the best treatment. If I did not have insurance I could not afford the treatment. It has almost been two years. As long as they can shrink my tumors which are all over I will live.
