BRACA 1

My mother died of ovarian cancer, my sister Lynne (50) and I (52) both have 3C ovarian being treated with taxol now. Our insurance will only pay for stage 3 or 4 clinical trials. How can we get on a list to be notified if there are any or when there is? We both live in rural Alaska.
I really feel that treatment specific to the reason we have cancer is the way for us to go and living where we do puts us in a grave position in relation to available treatments.

I just checked the website and they are recruiting for a clinical trial (stage 3& 4) in Anchorage.  I know you said you are in a rural area, but this may be the closest one for you and your sister.  Read all that may be available, though.  I was anxious to get back to you and stopped at the first one I saw that had Alaska listed.  I search: Ovarian cancer and Alaska.  That's how I found it.

check out this website http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/

It lists all (not just for Ovarian cancer) clinical trials going on in the USA.  And, keep checking it from time to time.  Good luck and I hope the very best for both of you.
