I'm hoping that someone could provide some insight into my mom's situation....She went to her yearly gyn appt. last week and mentioned she was having a slight pain on her left side (it comes and goes). They did a transvaginal US, because she had a hemmorrghaic (sp?) cyst about two years ago. (resolved on it's own). The girl who did the US mentioned some fluid behind the uterus. She said they would do a follow-up in a few months.
A few days later the Dr's office called & said they wanted her to have a CT scan (I should mention that she had Breast Cancer about 3 years ago. Lumpectomy/radiation, clean since then). She went to pick up the report, but it wasn't like a normal report, it was basically a form that was filled out.
The areas of note:
Cul-de-Sac
Light fluid
LEft adnexa
"Mass" circled - but then next to it was written "Or bowel"
A single myoma 1.6x1.0x1.2cm
I should also mention that the girl doing the test told her there were no cysts on her ovaries.
I'm curious what we might be dealing with....I know fluid can be a sign of cancer, but my mother said she doesn't have bloating or distention.
I'd like to belive they are just being cautious, but as you can imagine every time she has any kind of test, it's a really scary thing. Most things turn out to be nothing, but we still get really anxious.
Sorry if this is difficult to understand, I'm quite tired...ha ha ha.
I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks.
