My sister had a large mass appear after main surgery and before starting chemo. After 3 chemos her CA-125 went down from 195 to 13.3 but the CT scan still shows a large mass 8x7 cm near rectum. It has shrunk a lot and is her only mass. I don't think the chemo will shrink it much more with a low CA-125 but I don't know. Could it be dead or just inactive? Anyway, I think she should have the mass removed and then do more chemo and not wait until end and say lets try a different chemo. She needs a fistula repair surgery anyway. The Drs. aren't any help so I am thinking of going elsewhere, like the U of Minnesota. Anyone have an opinion on this. She is stage 2C with mild ascites, liver and spleen, but no other tumors. Radiotherapy is also an option for her only after fistula surgery.
