There is a clinical trial in progress for IV vitamin C, so hopefully, we'll have more information in 18-24 months.

Sunes ... A balance is a very good idea with this disease. Using both methods seems to be working for you. I hate the thought of the pharmaceutical companies suppressing alternative treatments for profits. There are more good people in the world than bad! I know more and more doctors are open to alternative treatments combined with traditional ones. Most of them, especially mine wants the best for me. I do not like doctors that put everyone in the same category! I responded to another thread about a women that I know from another forum that has been doing IV VitC for about a year. She is now experiencing a recurrence. In my opinion Ovca has a path and its going to continue until you find what works for you. In her case, it sounds like it stopped progression. Her body is ready for chemo. Fortunately she had a well needed break and was lucky to have found something to stop the disease between treatments. She is also on a special diet that is very difficult to stay on. I agree with you about boosting your immune system before and after treatments. I will not do VitC during my chemo treatments(I know you are not suggesting that). I just wish I had a break so that I could begin healing my body. At the moment I am stuck. It is very overwhelming when I read so many theories and alternative methods. I've used methods that are very aggressive. My cancer wants me and I say "NO!" I know chemo works for some and their cancer has never returned and they were late stage!! Mystery! I can't comprehend why this doesn't happen for everyone. I know we are all so very different with ovca and that is the problem finding a cure. In my opinion cancer is cancer! Those little microscopic buggers lift their ugly heads and we find ourselves in another battle. I am greiving over so many friends that I have lost to this disease. Some just recently. So, for me with my history I need to go forward with technology (as I mentioned before). I was told "no more surgeries by two doctors". We must be pro active with our disease and tailor our treatment that is custom made for our bodies. We have to listen to our bodies. Also, we have to listen to our inner voice when something isn't right. Keep asking questions and researching! Keep going forward even if it is against what the doctor suggests. Find another doctor, hospital, treatment center. Do what you have to do! Be the sweaky wheel! As women we are fortunate to have these instincts. We know when to trust. That goes for all the things that happens in our lives. We have the ability to seperate and know inside when something isn't right. Well, I'm getting off the subject, sorry! Hope you have a nice day too....Cindy

Nice post...very well written - Gia
Cindy I am not telling you to stop chemo.. and do Vit C. I do have a family relative working for Pharmaceutical Company in Toronto, ONT that was dx with stage 3 B ovca cancer 5 years ago...and I get most of my info from her about what's going on in cancer industry...she also chose to go alternative way and than conventional almost like I am doing right now... knowing the small percentage of survival after just chemo...She and I are strong believers that your body must be ready to fight any disease ...must be somewhat detoxified and nourished .She is taking VitC intravenous once a week for maintenance. I am not saying that Vit C is for everyone ...I am just defending my theory that Vit C is not going to harm anyone and will not weaken chemo it will give you a great boost and shield. . At the end of my post I said it works well for me...
Thank you for posting Cindy, Have a good day, Sunes.
According to the researchers, it's possible to intravenously boost levels of vitamin C in humans to the levels used in the mice.
But Levine cautioned that the treatment isn't ready for prime time with humans. "Should patients with any kind of tumor go out and get IV ascorbate [vitamin C]? That's not the message here," he said.
Instead, he said, the study shows the need for more research.
Dr. Len Lichtenfeld, deputy chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society, said the research is interesting but not yet proven.
"Like so many things that are intriguing or appear to be promising, there appears to be a long way to go from the theory in the lab to the practical application in the clinic."

Sunes ... Did you ever think that maybe someone from these pharmaceutical companies might have a family member with cancer? Or someone that might have died from cancer? I don't think what you are saying is true. I am not against your way of treating your disease. What works for you may not work for others. Have you ever met two women that has ovca that were exactly the same? I haven't. Information is given to us and then we decide what direction is best for us. I'm glad IV Vit C worked for you. I'm going in the direction of technology. I'm researching the cyberknife. If I am a good candidate I will have it done. Possible followed by Vit C. At this point I can't stop chemo. I'll die. I will never give up and I hope your heart will lighten up about the pharmaceutical companies. Stressing and negative thinking can bring on cancer too. Do you agree with that? I have a friend that works at a health food store and she's always upset about all the same kind of issues. I don't believe in sitting back when you strongly believe in something but there is no proof that the pharaceutical companies are putting profit ahead of human lives. Cindy
