Dr. Goodman, I was diagnosed 10/05, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma stage 3cn recurred 3/07 in diaphragm, had a resection and I finished my second round of chemo the end of Sept. I was on Doxil and carboplatin.  I recurred with mets to the lung and pleura diagnosed in Dec.  I had a pleurectomy and removal of one of the lung tumors and will be starting chemo again.  Tumor sensitivity testing was done.   I realize that having had 2 courses of carboplatin may mean I am platin sensitive.
I will be starting Gemzar as a single agent.  My question is does it work as well as a single agent, their literature relates to it being used with carboplatin. Is there something else that could or is being used in combination with it?

I got messed up when I saw medical community and assumed that was the physician.  When I did get in to post, I noted it was the expert.  I don't know what I hit that made me repeat the incorrect posting the second time.  Thanks for responding.  Marie

It would be really helpful if you could let us know where you clicked to try to get to Dr. Goodman's forum.  Did you go to our Forums Page and then scroll down to the EXPERT FORUMS area and then select Ovarian Cancer, or were you somewhere else.

Now I can rant about this new set up, this is twice  I thought I had gotten into the Dr.'s forum and it was label medical community and ended up posting this question here again.  Oh what a beautiful morning. I'll blame my problems posting on the pain meds.  

Also got a call from Breast Cancer asking for money for breast cancer.  I asked them to share some of their money with ovarian, since they have done such a great job with Breast.  They did not make my day.
