I will send you more info about how MGN-3 is really working.
Alan
You are very welcome. I knew Alan would be able to help. I hope your wife is doing well. I hope she gets the best possible treatment and a great response. Marie
Thank you for refferingv me to Alan with my question.
Hope you are well.
John.
Thank you so much for your input on MGN-3.I know that there is all sotrts of sites and treatments that give hope...and that's great.... hope is important but we also comunicate with our practitioners here in Calgary on anyting we find interesting and they give us their opinion. But it's still up to us to be smart about and choose wisely.
Thank you again for giving me some light on this.
Please send me URL to your site. I would like to browse a little.
Thank you, John.
MGN-3 is treated with polysaccharides (which is basically complex sugar typically found in mushrooms and rice bran). In-fact, that's what is used to 'make' MGN-3. polysaccharides stimulate NK cell activity (immunity, cancer fighting, etc) typically due ot beta glucans (which is part of how the whole polysaccharides thing works). I can't steer you towards or away from MGN-3, it just sounds like yet another 'thing' to do. It's made from brown rice bran and three mushroom derivatives (point of mention is none of the mushrooms is the best to take orally...maitake). I remain solid in using the best polysaccharides/beta glucan resource which is Maitake D-Fraction (maitake industries inc is the best U.S. manufacturer and you can find their products locally or through online retailers) because only Maitake can be absorbed orally with the most benefit compared to other mushrooms/bran polysaccharides/beta glucans which do not work the same way. For instance, one of the parts of MGN-3 is Shitake mushroom...which, yes, does have anti-cancer properties (really good actually) when take INTRAVENOUSLY. It has virtually no impact when take orally...that's the problem with most medicinal mushrooms...their beta glucans can't be absorbed correctly orally for the purpose we all want in this forum (not saying it will be useless to take, rice bran is great for lowering your cholesterol...the same beta glucan principal applies there too).
So if your goal is to do what MGN-3 claims to do, stimulate NK killer cell activity, stick with the only one that was in Phase II FDA clinical trials and used by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute...maitake d-fraction.
Trust me, there will ALWAYS be something out there that sounds good...I looked at virtually all of them for close to a year daily...and with the desire to cure or help cancer treatments work better...it's tough to not find hope in virtually everything you read. Remember, there are at least five good supplements you can take that are made by a variety of manufacturers which are typically low cost and can help. Send me a message if you want the URL to my article on it.
Just my 2 cents! :)
Since reading of your interest in this this morning I have been trying to learn more about it. I have not found anything showing this to be un-safe. I have only found that it is said to increase the cancer killing white blood cells. It looks like something to consider for me. Maybe someone with more info will come along. I messaged Alan. He knows so much about cancer and supplements. Marie
