Many, many symptoms of ovarian cancer..

Last month I started having symptoms of OC. I have abdominal pressure/bloating, few bouts of nausea and heartburn (very few for only a minute), pelvic pressure, pressure on my bladder, painful intercourse.
I am 37yo and have no family history of OC. My grandmother had throat/breast cancer and other grandmother had rectal cancer that spread to her female.
I have a doc appt this coming Mon with my OBGYN.
The thing is last year I had similar symptoms without the bloating and had a sharp pain on my right side. My OBGYN wont do a Ca125 but he did order a pelvic ultrasound. Diagnonis was ovarian cyst. Then he sent me to a urologist because I had blood in my urine. They did a cystoscopy and found to have overactive bladder. Of course I am freaking out thinking the worse. I am noticing every little twinge down there now.

Get a doctor you can trust and who will listen to you. After my doc told me that she was sure my problems with my stomach and abdomen once my thyroid got fixed and then I finally convinced a doc that there was something wrong with me (fourth doc who looked at my abdomen), I had a 7.5 pound tumor that was ovarian cancer. It was stage 1, so I was really, really lucky, but it took a lot of pushing. My CA 125 never got above 35 ("normal"). My transvaginal ultrasound was normal. It was only on a CT scan that the tumor showed up.

You need to do whatever you need to do to get the results you want. Your listening to your body and basically its screamimg at you saying help. So please go see your doc or get another second opinion. Get a hormone check too Dont wait.

2 weeks ago I had a transvaginal ultrasound.  The radiologist concluded that there was an heterogeneous mass centrally and that the vascularization in the periphery was worrisome.  I went to see my Gyno who told me not to worry since the mass was relatively small but upon my persistance, ordered a CA 125 an other ultrasound in 6 weeks.  CA 125 came back normal.  I am worried.  During intercourse, if pressured is put on the upper part of the pelvis, it hurts.  My abdomen is swollen, and is very sensitive to the touch.  I have excessive gaz and feeling extremely week and tired.  The former could be related to my pernicous anemia and Hereditary Hemochromatosis for which I have also been diagnozed recently.  I'm tired of not being taken seriously.  I have been off work for the past 6 months and my health is deteriorating instead of getting better.  Should I go see my GP and ask him to perform additional blood test as I read that the CA 125 is not accurate in 50% for first stage cancer?  Please help

Six weeks is a long time to wait if something is wrong, I would find another doctor. I didn't trust my doctor to do laproscopic surgery so I asked around and got the number of a recommended gyn. When I called and told them what was going on I got an appt two weeks later. You need to be comfortable & secure with your doctor.
Good luck

Molly,I'm almost 49 yrs. old and have to have an ovary removed at the end of this mo. due to a large growth inside the ovary.I have abdominal swellling and my other ovary hurts as well even when I'm not having two periods a mo.Sometimes they come every  three wks. This mo.,it was a wk. late. The Gyn did an A125 test, but she says that she'll have to do a biopsy of the growth. I don't know why I can't have both ovaries taken out or even have a hysterectomy. I'm not going to have any kids anyway.I've never had any kind of surgery, and I'm freaking out too. I wish that I had gotten a second opinion. But it's too late. Maybe it's not too late for you to get one. Every Gyn should at least do an A125 test under these circumstances.Good luck.I would write "Try not to worry" but we do. Take care.

Ask your doctor if it's functional cyst or complex cyst.
