I'm on Avastin/ Topotecan and my ca after 2 treatments has gone from 28,000 to 8,000. I'll be praying that this new chemo for you daughter works well.
Hugs and Prayers, Terry
No one can possibly tell you ahead of time how well someone will respond to a particular treatment. If the treatment does work well for her, she could have a long remission or something as short as a month or two. Nobody knows...that's just the nature of this disease, unfortunately.
I did Avastin/cytoxan for 6 cycles and it shrunk my tumors by almost half and held them stable for a few months until the tumors began to grow again.
I hope she sees good results with this drug combo - my biggest side effect was fatigue so tell her not to push her body too much.
Best of luck,
Becky
This is still a pretty new drug so there is not a lot of studies on whether or how long a "remission" will last. I've heard of some who have been on this chemo for over a year and are doing well. I've just started on this chemo and have all of my fingers and toes crossed.
Best of luck to your daughter that she achieves complete remission again.
