Pleurisy and ovarian problem - is there a connection?

This may seem out of left field -
I had a dry cough for months - ended up getting pleurisy then pleural effusion.  Treated with antibiotics.
This all happened between Sept 07 and Dec 07.  Seems fine now, x-ray is clear

But, I noticed a dull ache in the vaginal area and low back discomfort.  Turns out I have a 12cm cyst on the ovary I have left.   (Had an abdominal hysterectomy taking cervix, uterus and my right ovary)  on June 26, 06.

Taking the remaining ovary out Feb 5, 07.  They are 99% sure it is non-cancerous.   I am going to be 48 soon.

Can the growing problem with my ovary have been a catalyst to the lung problem?  I am a non-smoker.  Never had lung issues in the past.

About the healthiest person I know, actually. Other than this past 5 months.

I won't feel bad if this was a dumb question and you treat it as such.   :~)

Thank you!

Carol

CA125 test was 13 -
So, that is one good thing to find out before surgery!

Anyone have pleurisy - and then find out they also have an ovarian cyst?

Still wondering if there is a connection.

Thanks!

I remember that episode of Wings - with William Hickey
How much do you think that bridge weighs?
What kind of shots do you think you would have to get if a monkey bit you?

One of my favorites!

My mother says there is no such thing as a dumb question.    Run that one about the monkey by her!    :~)

Thank you for the kind words.  The doctor took the CA125 test on me on Thursday and I have not heard back, so figuring that is fine and the surgery will be non-eventful.  (no news is good news? )

Just was weird to have pleurisy in the midst of all this and NO explanation for it.

Thank you again!

I don't think it is a dumb question at all; remember.....there is no such thing as a dumb question!?    You said your x-ray is clear, however, and that is a pretty good indication that there is nothing up.....I can imagine how un-nerving this whole situation is, but, indicators are good.  Remember...98 - 99% of all ovarian tumors are benign...please do let us know how things turn out....we are here either way.
Peace.
