Pre- op tomorrow!

Hi everyone!  I think this website is amazing!  I'm happy my sister found it for me!  I have my pre-op tomorrow and I'm nervous. Is it normal to donate blood for yourself prior to surgery?  I want to ask the right questions but I don't know where to begin!  I've never had surgery so I don't know what to expect.  I'm nervous about signing papers that are so final.  I'm 24, I've never had children and the thought of losing an ovary, a tube, or a part of my uterus scares me.  I still have 2 weeks until the surgery and I'm going out of my mind!

First of all, calm down!! ;-)  Just make sure to write down all of your questions so that you don't forget.  Maybe your sister can go with you to the pre-op.  Mine did and she was great.  She took notes and asked questions since I was such a nervous wreck.  Do you know what type of surgery you are having?  Let me know how it goes.

I just recently had a hysterectomy with both ovaries and tubes removed and the pre op appointment was great to go to they just ease your mind about what to expect and do their best to ease any anxiety about the surgery. It was also very informative as well. Do take someone with you because they will help u remember what was said.
