There is an gov't organization involved with naturals. Also sloan kettering has a good herbal database.

Dr Goodman is a GYN/ONC at Mass General isn't she...wonder what her thoughts are on this subject.
Yes I've heard of that one before. Problem is, most oncologists stick to the 'standard' of the time.
For example something that really shows promise is heated chemotherapy via IP (into your abdominal cavity) during the surgery to clean up. Theorey being that heat kills cancer cells AND directly into the abdominal cavity works better than IV.
This is rarely done (sometimes because special equipment is needed to heat the chemo and cycle it) however, but when it does, success rates go up.
Also IP chemo, although harder, is recognized to be the best route for III/IV ovca patients.
Since the FDA cannot regulate the natural therapys, how do we support the researchers that are naturlists? I would give anything to know how involved the drug companies are in keeping some of these remedies off the market. If we have an FDA, why can't we have a like organization for the natural things. FNA???? I also would like to see someone correlate all the new "things" don't have a word for all of them, that help kill cancer cells. It would be a big help in searching for answers if these could be in one place. Wonder if the people that run this forum would make a special place to record them, that we could add to as they are suggested. I put each new idea into my word pad for reference, just incase my daughter has a recurrance. Searching the net for answers can be very time consumming and frustrating. I feel for the newly dx woman/man that comes to the net for help, as more are saying that the doctors are not open with them. Forgive me, I always write a darn book when I get started on my ideas.
Gail~
I read the same article. There is hope on the horizon as each new day passes. We all need to hang in there and be strong. God willing, the more advances, the better all of us have for fighting and beating this thing! We need to be pro-active re: continuing research. We must find a cure; but we can't find it, if we can't fund it.....write to anyone who will listen and make each of the dollars spent on cancer research count! God Bless!
Yes Gail. We definitely can use Radiofrequency ablation for ovarian cancer much more if it has gone to the liver. Our local hospital uses it here in Los Angeles area. We have discussed it here in a previous post. You can see the archives. It is reassuring to know that even if the cancer has gone to the liver there is something that can remove it. The important question now is how far can Radiofrequency be used to remove other tumors particularly those in the peritoneal area?
