Okay..do lymphnodes generally hurt?

The doctor says this lump (If you want to know where it's located, do this; Put your finger on your belly button, go down like three inches, and then go left about 3 1/2 inches.) is just a lymphnode, yet, when I move around a lot or run up the stairs, it hurts. Not so much that it's painful, but it just barely hurts. Sometimes it even hurts when I'm just standing there.

I don't really have anything wrong with me anymore. I can now use the restroom just fine. I have been tired a lot lately, but that's probably because I go to bed at about midnight or later each night, and I have to get up at 6 for school. Plus, I'm on birth control. So, I guess my question is if lymphnodes can hurt?

Their's nothing wrong with me, though. The lymphnodes isn't surfaced or anything at all. The doctor said it was normal. I'll be going back shortly, so I'll let everyone know what happens.

If my memory serves me correctly it is notice of alarm if the swollen nodes don't hurt--but always check with Dr.  I used to have recurring swollen lymph nodes mostly in neck for a few years and typically the symptom would begin with a hive beneath my ear or on face directly beneath ear area and the node would eventually surface, the hive would itch something terrible. I was seriously thinking someting was wrong, but my doctors never detected anything and I currently I have not had this reoccur in past year. Sometimes I would have a sore throat or infection, but it seemed more often than not I could determine the reason of the overactive node.

I can feel them like along my jaw bone through my cheeks. He said those a lymphnodes, too. And I can feel the one around my abdomen really well, but the doctor says that he gets a lot of cases where girls can feel their lymphnodes, and they worry about it being something else.

And I should be going back around the end of this month.

Okay...today, I realized I have a rash all over my stomach and back and it itches like crazy. That's really strange. I DID go to my friends house yesterday, to take a shower. So, now I don't know if it's an allergic reaction or what. But I looked up lymphoma and that is a symptom, as well as the enlarge lymphnodes, but mine don't stick out or anything, I have to press down to feel them.

Oh -- And he didn't put me on anything, because they didn't hurt at all then. It doesn't really hurt, I can just feel it...

I have lumps on both sides of my cheeks, along my jaw bone.

I can feel them in my neck, too.

I was thinking I have a lot of them, because not only can I feel them, but I rarily ever get sick. My boyfriend is throwing up and has lost his voice, and I've been around him non stop, and kissing him and stuff, and I don't feel sick at all.

Yes lymphnodes can be painful.  When is your follow up visit to your doctor?  Can you feel any anywhere else(under you chin, in your armpit, in the crease of your leg at your groin area,)?  My husband had an infected hair follicle in his leg that caused him to have several pop up in his groin area several years back.  Antibiotics took care of it.

I know that my four year daughter had one swell on her under neath her right arm and it threw the docs in a frenzy bad enough for them to send her for a  mri and then to a surgeon..Did the doctor put you on a antibiotic cause usually infection of some kind makes them swell up...Hers was about the size of a small bouncy ball and when they put her on antibiotics it went down slowly but if finally disappeared..If it doesnt disappear they usually go in and biopsy it to see if it is cancer caused ..They never did find out what caused hers, was just glad it disappeared ,we were fearing lymphoma..But thank GOD it wasnt..I hate to say this but you would be better off just going to the emergency room..they are more likely to run more test to get to the bottom of things..Bills can allways be paid off slowly but surely...good luck ...lou
