Hi Mary Ann ,
thankyou for the article , I think you may be able to get more answers or advice if you ask the doctor on the other forum any questions you may have. I too have a rare type of ovarian cancer and she has been helpful in answering questions I have had in the past . To get to her forum click on forums at the top of this page,on the right hand side you will see ask a doctor forum , scroll down til you get to ovarian cancer , click on that and you will see where to write your questions. Some times it gets full there so you may have to try a few times . I hope that has helped a bit , Im sorry that you are going through this. Remember that we are all different so don,t scare yourself with too much from the internet , I did that myself and wish I had not !! . Everyones situation is different and their body handles this disease differently .
Take care
Angie
Hi,
I had a fibroma of the ovary. My samples were sent to several hospitals trying to determine if I had a fibroma or a fibrosarcoma of the ovary due to the mitotic count being above 3 (3 or less is a fibroma, 4 or more is fibrosarcoma normally). Mine were 4 to 6 per magnification of 10. MD Anderson said it was "a moticly active cellular fibroma and to follow closely". This was July 2006. I was seen every three months for the first year and now go every six months. For the first year I had a ct scan, exam and ca125 test every three months. Now I get an ultrasound, exam and ca125. Everything is normal so far. You may want to read this article.

Hi Angie,
yes my ca125 blood test came back as 17 which i think is good?
My consultant said ovarian fibro sarcoma is rare.
Hi,
Im sorry but I have never heard of ovarian Fibroids , I have only heard of the type that I had which were in my uterus. Fibro sarcoma is not the same as fibroids , the fact that the washings were clear is a good sign and do you mean a ca125 blood test?. Maybe you could ask your doctor if he could explain a bit more clearly to you ? Good luck with your ct scan and try not to worry to much (I know easier said than done!! ) but many things turn out to be benign . Let us know how you get on .
Take care Angie
