Pathology Results

Mucinous Cystadenoma.......which surprises me since the gyn said that the fluid was relatively thin. Anyway, it's benign...yay! But he said that we have to keep an eye on the other ovary. I asked if it was common for women my age.....he said that cysts aren't common but that this does happen in women in their 20's, usually not teenagers though. Also, my neighbor friend has his Essentials of Obstetrics and Gynecology textbook ...he is a 3rd year surgery resident....I have read the book and it says that mucinous cystadenomas are benign 85% of the time. So we may have to start a new club here! lol.  My doc says that my cyst would rate 3rd on the list (1st being dermoids)...4th is fibromas and so on and so forth....
Anyway, I'm well, just had a bit of an infection in my navel incision and went to get checked out last week, like 5days post-op, took some antibiotics and had surgeon friend stick a q-tip type instrument in my open hole and it helped drain the pus. I think it's healing now but I'm done with the antibiotics...I just got my period and I'm not even 2wks post-op...I thought I might be hemorrhaging...LOL! This is not the kind of menses I'm used to. But, since my body went through the trauma, I guess it's gonna' affect this cycle. Well, physically, I feel great! It only took me like 2 days to feel normal after the laparoscopic surgery. I had constipation problems and it took a week to go....The doc said it is fine to use a Dulcolax suppository to get things started...for those of you that have the same problem. Hope ya'll have a great day!

Good for you!!  I think they are only 85% benign because the maliganant  mucinous cyst  adds adenocarcinoma.  They mimic each other in symtoms and appearance.  My gyn mentioned that to me.
