I saw in a magazine that on Aug 1st, QVC will be selling a teal colored necklace for OVCA reasearch funds.  I plan on getting one, they are very unique.  Didn't know where to post this info.

You ladies are so right!!  If we concentrated on statistics and the negative we'd be robbed of the present and thats all any of us live in; today.  I prefer to look on the "glass half full" side of things since thats what brings us happiness.  Thanks ladies for your posts and keep fighting!!!

Thats right, it is stories like that that give so much hope to so many of us. Though the percentage rate for survival is low, we all have the same chance to be in that small percentage. I too thought that I only had about 18 months at the most. Boy did I find out how wrong I was. There are so many women out there that were diagnosed at stage IV that are still here years later. Those were the kind of things that I wanted to hear. Not all of the gloom and doom that we all usually hear. Those are the stories that put the fight in us.

Cases like hers kept me going in the weeks after my dx.  I found on the net my so-called life expectancy for my situation was 5 to 15 months.  I thought to heck with that and kept searching survivor stories until I found a woman 14 yrs out and still alive with a case similar to mine.  That's more like it.  I am so thankful to the strong women that have been willing to share their stories and their strength with us.  Some of them are right here on this forum.  Marie
