I think they're both similar types of cell, called Epithelial cells.  Someone else might know more?

Yes. That's why PPC Primary Peritoneal Cancer is also known as Extra Ovarian Cancer. The cells of Peritoneal are the same as ovary cells. That is also why there are a few males with PPC. It's very rare for males but it can happen.
