stupid question

Every single time i have reoccured, i get these itchy places on my head, that i naturally scratch at, then they scab over, they are irritating so i scratch them and they bleed. i have about six of them right now. Eventually the hair will fall out surrounding them. I have also been told that there is a possiblity that i have multiple scerosis ( i know that is not spelled right) I get leg pain re occurance or not and am on neurontin for this. Does the reoccurance make the possible ms act up and cause this to happen. Or has anyone else experienced this. I forgot to ask the oncologist, and the neurologist i have aint worth a hill of beans. Thank you in advance

I have the scar healing problem too.  I have another friend who has been dx with an autoimmune disorder and then she developed lymphoma.   Since we know we all have cancer cells it is just a matter of how strong our immune system is to keep them at bay before they turn into tumors.  I am sorry you are in another recurrence.  I'll be praying you will soar through it and be cancer free again soon.  Sounds like you have had a really tough time.

i had forgotten the name of it and that is what it is called thank you. i am also positive ana factor, but it comes and goes too, and doesnt meet criteria for lupus. thats funny though that u should mention it cuz when i was in the hospital  with my uterine cancer for those months on end, they thought i had lupus and i will tell u what, i had five internists, one rheumatology, my gyn/onc, and obgyn standing over me like i was some sort of something. it is a complete mystery what happened ( i had a severe pelvic hematoma) and was bleeding out, my entire belly was full of blood after surgery, obviously something was nicked, but i just wasnt healing properly. how strange. to this day, i dont heal like other people, and a simple scrape or scratch will take forever to heal, and will generally leave a scar. funny too, now that i have reoccured the leg pain which is a pain to live with has decreased. strange how the body works

I get what you are describing on my upper arms and chest.   I had a 10 day hospital stay with my ovca dx and during that time they sent in a rheumatologist who dx me with a paraneoplastic syndrome.  I also had very high fevers at the time (105).   It is interesting you have been suspect for MS because they have wondered about my having lupus before (years earlier than the cancer dx).   I do have a positive ANA, rheumatoid factor, and several of the criteria for a dx but don't ever quite meet the dx for any specific autoimmune disorder.  I had very high fevers that persisted after my ovca surgery.  I thought the rheumatologist was going to finally find an autoimmune problem but instead he believed the rash was a result of my body's weakened immunity from the cancer and chalked it up to this paraneoplastic syndrome.  I also was having constant pink eye and dry eye prior to my dx.  I still don't quite understand it but am happy to report that all of those troublesome symptoms are now gone.  I am only six months post dx and thankfully haven't had a recurrence.

SimplyStar - interesting about the liver overload.  That makes sense to me.  Thx.

An overtaxed liver can be especially problematic for those suffering from psoriasis due to increased sensitivity to inflammation in the body. An overwrought liver is unable to keep up with the multitude of toxins flowing through it each day and begins to store them in its lower lobe and also in fat stores throughout the body. When the liver is overwhelmed with toxins, other organs such as the skin, lungs and kidneys take an increased role in purging them from our bodies. The quantity of toxins excreted by the skin via perspiration increases, and toxins which might have exited the system through the intestines or kidneys are now deposited on the surface of the skin. People suffering from psoriasis may be acutely sensitive to these impurities and might see a marked increase in frequency or severity of flare-ups.

Have your liver checked out  what you have sounds more like one of the types of Psoriasis   the toxins overload the liver and  when it cannot get rid of them it sends them out through the skin, the scalp is a favorite place for this.
